What are the Middens to Huck Finndian?

While they have become a less interesting and waning part of Pax Miss cultural heritage over at least the past few decades, clam shell mounds or “middens” need to remain important. They are a key part of the ruins Gabriel helped discover and validate. The Mississippian description of the mythical origins of the Pax Miss in shell mounds (one still sees them as one flies in low over southern Florida), still has resonance. The middens exist as a kind low, almost indiscernible droning in political discourse and its concepts such as energy and security. Where Gabriel comes from not only the land but oceans, seas, and lakes too have rivers—many holding vast riches of the techno fossils of kindness and civil war.
