While many may think of laws as making certain persons liable, they also limit liability. Laws protect persons from the law. In stating who is liable for what, they also show who is not liable. If the law is a series of books, and the ink spells out the laws, the white space of the pages speaks volumes as well. No one has ever determined how many pages in these books are blank.
“Embeha” literally means “with limited liability.” Starting with an acknowledgement of this situation of one’s own limited liability, we are able to see ourselves in a state of freedom and privilege.
